Our History

One If By Land Tours, Inc. was founded in 1980 by Stuart Weisberg – a teacher in the New York City School System for 12 years. Besides earning a Masters Degree in Secondary Education, Stuart has earned a CTIS (Certified Travel Industry Specialist) certification at Indiana Purdue University. Only a select few in our country and Canada have earned this certification. Through hard work, and commitment to providing the best value in student and adult group travel, One If By Land Tours, Inc. has become a leader in North American group travel.

In 2005 the corporate headquarters was re-located to the Charlotte, North Carolina area. While our Northeast base continues to grow, One If By Land Tours is developing new markets, and making new friends in the Southeast.

Active involvement in the American Bus Association has helped to raise the standard of professionalism of both our company and the tourism industry in general. Stuart has worked with the ABA on legislative issues on Capitol Hill, in New York, and other cities.

One If By Land Tours has earned an excellent reputation throughout the tourism industry. Our company is frequently interviewed by newspaper, magazine, radio, and television journalists regarding key issues affecting the industry. Stuart has been a guest speaker at numerous state tourism caucuses.

The most important ingredient in the management formula for One If By Land Tours is the “hands-on” approach. Management answers the phones, plans tours, makes reservations, and still escorts tours. Perhaps this is why One If By Land continues to thrive during tough economic and political times.
